Default Sin questions.

I have read and come to understand and accept the sin's role as a hit-and-run condition/spike machine. It has been said to me that if you set up your without shadowstepping skills in PvP and PvE, you are not going to have the best experiences as a sin player.

What I need to know is: What armor mods are generally going to suit the assassin best in his role? What secondary should an assassin opt for, why, and should they sacrifice skill points in one of their sin skills for the sake of one of the secondary's skills? Is the Shadow Arts or Critical Strikes line indispensable? Is the only reasonable way to heal one's self as a sin to put skill points in Shadow Arts?

And also: Which sin armor set looks the best in your opinions?

it all depends on your preference and your build

shadow stepping is good for beginners, but after a while you can live without it. but it's still not bad :] so up to you in terms of that.

I always, ALWAYS have critical strikes at around 13, and shadow arts...uhm. at like 7. or something. I use daggers so that's usually high up at there as well.

As for secondary..that definitely depends on what build you're going for. I usually use just all sin skills so I can't help much there. I think some of the more popular secondaries are warrior and ranger, and if you're farming, elementalist. monk is a general secondary that you could go for mending touch and a hard res for pve (like rebirth or resurrect or something)

For Armor, I use Nightstalkers for PvE, Shrouded for PvP. In PvE I'm not as reliant on energy (i use critical eye and other stuff to help). In PvP I'm more energy needy :E Those are usually the two most commonly seen. Valkyrie was a biggie at one point, iunno how much so anymore.

And as for last question...15K LUXON DYED BLACK WHOOOO!

*snuggles her beauuuutiful sin n---n*

For armor I would recommend shrouded as more energy really comes in handy about 90% of the time. If you think you can do without extra armors (so testing them out would be best to reach a decision)shrouded would definitely be the choice. IMHO evading damage with shadowstepping is the best defense.

Assassin attributes beside Critical Strike are ALL dispensable in my opinion, it all comes down on your build and play style. A common trade off for secondary attributes would be Shadow Arts (at least for me 90% of the time), namely because the SA line has little hard heals (all conditional) and that equally reliable/efficient shadowstepping skills could be found in the No attrb line eg. ShadowWalk, Recall, AoD. Dagger mastery is completely tradeble (ofcourse taking in account of runes) if for any reason you would like to use a different weapon than daggers eg. high critical scythe builds and critical barrage builds. Deadly Art is also tradeble although there is really not so much secondary attrb that matches or excels DA in terms of application, maybe Curses. Again its up to your build. Critical Strike is pretty much indispensable because of energy management and more dmg output although you don't necessarily have to pump it up to the breakpoint at 13 if you need points elsewhere.

Secondary profs choices are completely up to your build/play style. Common choices are A/W for IAS stances found typically in BoS builds, A/Mo for hardheals mendingtouch etc, A/N for hexes or simply just plague touch against degen Rangers, A/D for scythe usage or defensive enchantments, A/E the Shadowform farmer or just some offensive spells, A/Rt weaponspells to increase damage or survivability irremovable too so its worry free, A/R for critical barrage builds/pets

You can pretty much see that alot of variation is possible in the assassin class. SA is definitely not the only choice in healing one self, sometimes not even the most efficient even with runes. Never be afraid to explore all the possibilities in the secondary attrbs.

Lastly my favorite sin armor has gotta be the canthan 15k un dyed (black mask). I just dig those daggers sticking out on the back of my cape so much You did never guess how much daggers I have behind the cover of my cape

Meh I dont shadow step unless I'm using an assassin's promise build. They aren't frequent enough to be effective for anything but escape, and they ARE NOT FOR FUN!!! Shadowsteps are tactical skills used to get to an enemy faster or to escape from battle. The best armor mods are general enough to get you at least 30 energy, whatever skill runes you need, and then the rest should be vigor/survivor/vitae/nightstalkers. As for secondaries I'd go with warrior, just in case you need an IAS or wild blow, maybe even defensive stances. Monk is also good, and I've round rits and dervishes great for survivability. Critical Strikes is neccessary IMO for energy management, I always use 13 in dagger builds, and shadow arts(unless using a 2ndary for healing) should usually be between 6-8 + whatever you have left over. That should get you a decent shadow refuge or feigned neutrality.

BTW as I've said many times, Sins aren't just hit and run spike machines. They do that very well, but they can do much, much more with time and experience

Ooooooooh, shadow steps are reeeeaaally fun!! This is not to say that they should be thrown in any skill bar just for this purpose, but when you do have one, they can be very fulfilling.

One of my favorite defensive skills atm is [skill]Death's Retreat[/skill]. It combines a shadowstep along with a self heal which is very nice.

A couple months ago I loved deaths retreat but I've adapted to something I think is better (in my opinion) [skill]restful breeze[/skill]. Permanent 10 regen, and usually at 6ish i believe you could keep it up all the time if you had to. And offensive shadow steps are better suited for pvp like [skill]shadow prison[/skill] unless used with [skill]assassin's promise[/skill] in which [skill]dark prison[/skill] or [skill]death's charge[/skill] is good.I also use nightstalkers armor with full radiant insignias.And...... crit strikes is always to be used unless using a deadly arts build. Also, as i stated for restful breeze, you could go /D and use [skill]natural healing[/skill] if you want a fast heal rather than a regen heal. Oh and for the armor Black Ancient for males and sort of a aqua-marineish 15k luxonfor females.
